Backbone of synthesis tree is a supertree (Bininda-Emonds et al, 2005, Syst Biol, 54) built from several mitogenomes studies: Ge X et al. (2022) Insects, 13, 759; Ge X et al. (2023) Systematic Entomology, 48, 278–295; Linard B et al. (2017) Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 28, 71 - 72; Peng L et al. (2022) Insects, 13, 1101. Synthesis tree constructed by constrained backbone (Chesters, 2019, Syst Entom, 45), using multigene alignment of COI from BOLD, and six markers from NCBI, homologous to those of Thomas JA et al. (2020) Systematic Entomology, 45, 670-686. 873 species with single outgroup Ahamus_yunnanensis. Known issues: poor intrageneric resolution in several of the larger genera. * If used in a publication, please cite Chesters, Ferrari, Lin, Orr, Staab, Zhu (2023) Launching insectphylo.org; a new hub facilitating construction and use of synthesis molecular phylogenies of insects.
